Consequently, the mid-term trend has been reversed and the road to the bottom of the external sloping channel (1,3294/1,3398) is open.

If the price beaks and consolidates below 1,3490, the bigger-scale uptrend will be terminated. The actual retracement Fibo grid for a(C ) H8 is built on top of 1,3398 - 1,3621.

The downward targets are:

1,3536=38%;
1,3510=50%;
1,3490=pivot 2;
1,3483=62%+sloping channel.

The alternative scenario implies the end of the downswing through forming a bigger-scale upswing with breaking above 1,3621/1,3615 and an upward FZR.

If this is the case, the Fibo grid built on top of wave A/B D1 1,3831-1,3294 will become actual:

The upward targets in this case will be:

1,3626=62%;
1,3704=76%;
1,3768=88%;
1,3831=hidden FZR.

GBPUSD: Near-Term Outlook

The analysts working for Masterforex-V Academy are currently focused on 1,5853, which is the starting point of the current long-term trend. It corresponds to the peak of wave B W1.

The upswing comping from the point is represented by wave A D1. In its turn, the wave is a part of wave a(C )/C W1.

The daily bar formed on December 2^nd resembles the one indicating a reversal. At the same time, there is a chance of seeing the price develop wave B of D1 within the framework of bC W1. The bearish price target is the bottom of the W1 sloping channel built through 1,4812/1,5853.

At this point, the price has broken the sloping channel built through 1,6132/1,6313. For the bearish scenario, the following targets looks actual:

1,6323=38%
1,6286=50%
1,6250=62%
1,6205=76%
1,6168=88%
1,6132=pivot1

GBPUSD Mid-Term Prospects

According to Masterforex-V Academy, the D1 wave started by GBPUSD at 1,5853 is completed. A break out of the 1,5853 - 1,6071 sloping channel confirms that. The mentioned way is a part of bigger-scale move – a(C )/C of level Weekly 1 or 2.

At this point, the actual retracement Fibo grid is built on top of wave D1 (1,5853 - 1,6239). At this point, the price has touched 23%.

The downward targets are:

1,6092 – 38%;
1,6046 – 50%;
1,6000 – 62%.

The downward move has wave A H2 inside. The borders are 1,6239-1,6132. The given wave is the starting point for the mid-term trend.
