Nokia Is Planning to Sell at Least 16 Million Android Devices in 2014

Nokia reports about the start of preorders for new Android-powered Nokia devices. The world-famous Finnish manufacturer of mobile devices claims that such devices as Nokia X, Nokia X+ and Nokia XL will target emerging markets but will be available worldwide.
 


According to the experts working for Strategy Analytics, Nokia can count on selling 16 millions Android-powered smartphones this year or 4 million per quarter. This is equal to 40%-50% of the market niche of Windows Phone devices.
 
At this point, Nokia accounts for 90% of Windows-powered mobile devices. Still, the experts believe Nokia may lose a lot of its share in this niche due to turning to Android OS. Still the news seems to have made positive effect on the company's stock. At this point Nokia can see its stock appreciating and breaking above the closest local high.
