Eurozone: busy French weekend
The security service of French airports went on strike during the weekend, thus demanding higher salaries and better working conditions. All in all, there were 10.000 strikers.
Moreover, the President of Turkey Recep Erdogan urged the President of France Nicolas Sarkozy to block the approval of the bill connected with the responsibility of denying the genocide of Armenians in 1915-1916. He said Turkey and France shouldn’t sacrifice their bilateral relations in favor of a third party:
“This proposed law targets and is hostile to the Republic of Turkey, the Turkish nation and the Turkish community living in France… I want to state clearly that such steps will have grave consequences for future relations between Turkey and France in political, economic, cultural and all areas and the responsibility will rest with those behind this initiative…”
